Month 10 - Week 4

It's hard to believe that Carter is only 1 month away from being a whole year old. It is amazing how time flies so we made sure to get in as much fun this week as we could! Carter loves to be active and moving. Toss him in the air or swing him around and smiles and giggles are sure to follow. So when Carter crawled into the laundry basket this week... The next logical step was to turn that basket into a swing. Needless to say, Carter loved it!
Since laundry day is only once a week, Carter had to celebrate for using his walkers the rest of the week in order to get his movement fix. He loves being able to move around on his own. I'm not sure how close he is to actually walking but the walkers seem to do the trick for now!
When not walking around the house, Carter spent most of his time climbing the stairs or hanging in his play room. He loves that his big sisters frequently come visit him. Then even like to hang out in Carter's current favorite spot, the reading corner.Carter spends a lot of time with his books. He is an expert at grabbing the one he wants off the shelf and bring it to mom/dad to read. And by "read", I mean turn the pages super fast. He might be the fasted page turner this side of the Mississippi!Luckily when he needs a rest from all the strenuous activity, big sis Maddie is there to give him some love.As for eating habits this week, not much has changed. Carter still loves his Crunchies. Just look at this face when I showed him the container...Very cute. Unfortunately the face when he runs out of Crunchies isn't so cute (ok it kinda still is). As for big events in the Holden house this week. Carter had a few. We replaced one of his daily bottles at daycare with a sippy cup. Apparently it went of without a hitch. That is great since he is one week closer to saying "Good Bye" to bottles for good. Carter also had another first this week and that was his first band aid. Ok - he had several band aids in the past while in the hospital/getting vaccines but this was the first one mom put on. Luckily, the bleeding didn't even seem to phase Carter. He got a small cut on his finger but we have no idea how it happened since he didn't make a peep. So we put on a band aid to try and stop the bleeding....What's that... you couldn't see the band aid? That's because as soon as it went on, the finger went in Carter's mouth and off the band aid came. Luckily the bleeding stopped and the playing continued. Another big event this week started Sunday with a trip to the Auto Show. Colin needed to get a new car so we went to check out everything on the market. Dad had a blast looking at all the cars, Carter loved all the people and mom was glad that her boys were happy! The week ended with dad buying a new Kia and the Holden's being truck free for the first time ever. Carter is slowly moving closer to being all grown up so mom and dad are going to keep him as close as possible until that day comes!
